Sri Nityananda Trayodashi

A grand three-day festival concluded on Monday afternoon in honour of Nityananda Prabhu. The festival began Saturday evening and continued the next morning with arati and parikrama led by Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj. The devotees visited the nearby sites associated with Nityananda Prabhu’s Pastimes. After returning to the temple, a continuous programme of kirtan, Hari-katha, and mass prasad distribution continued until late at night. Visiting Indian and Western devotees enthusiastically cooked, cleaned, and distributed prasad.

The festival was attended by special guest Srila Bhakti Bimal Avadhut Maharaj, Sripad Bhakti Prapanna Tirtha Maharaj, Sripad Bhakti Chandan Parvat Maharaj, Sripad Bhakti Vigraha Nyasi Maharaj, and other sannyasis visiting from other maths. In their lectures all emphasised the extreme necessity of obtaining the mercy of Nityananda Prabhu in order to be successful in spiritual life, as well as the extremely merciful nature of Nityananda Prabhu. The connection between Nityananda Prabhu, Ekachakra Dham, and the founding of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math was also discussed: that Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj started Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math over seventy years ago after receiving forceful inspiration from Sri Nityananda Prabhu in Ekachakra Dham.

Almost one hundred Westerners and thousands of Indians came by plane, train, bus, and car from all over the world and all over India for this special occasion.

The festival concluded Monday afternoon with Hari-katha and mass prasad distribution. More than 25,000 plates were distributed during the festival.
